Product Information

Mains to Generator Automatic Transfer Switch.

Automatic switching between local Mains supply and a standby generator

Three phase (400V)  ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) panel.  A phase failure relay is used for Mains (Utility) voltage monitoring and offers Under and Over voltage protection as well as phase sequence.  The panel uses two timer relays to control timing functions in the panel.   Timer 1 is used to control the Mains restoration period, this controls the period the Mains supply has to be healthy before engaging the Mains contactor. Timer 2 controls the generator settling period, this time period ensures the generator has ran up to speed and stabilized before a load is applied to the generator.  Failure of the primary Mains supply initiates a start signal to the generator, once started timer 2 provides a settling period before the load is applied to the generator.  The ATS automatically switches back to the primary Mains supply on its return to a healthy state. Timer 1 controls the primary Mains supply restoration period only switching back to primary Mains after this period has elapsed (this ensures the Mains supply is stable before stopping the generator). Once the load has returned to the primary Mains supply the generator start signal is removed.

The default setting for the primary Mains restoration period is one minute and the generator warmup timer is set for 15 seconds. (Both are fully adjustable). The generator start signal is by means of volt free normally open (N/O) contact closing when the generator is required to run.

Housed in a robust mild steel enclosure rated to IP65. Supplied with loose gland plate, and door key. Enclosure specification to EN 62208, RAL7035, EN 60529, IK10, EN 61439-1-2. Cable entry as standard is arranged for bottom entry with a direct connection into the contactors. A 16A auxiliary output is provided for use with battery chargers, water jackets heater etc.
