About Us Blandon Systems
Blandon Systems was founded in 1985 however it didn’t just start there, about a year prior best friends and work colleagues, John Blades and Thomas Crandon had dabbled with the idea of going it alone designing, making and installing generator switchgear, qualified in engineering, design and mechanics they were set to take a step into the generator industry.
Humble Beginnings
In 1985 Blandon Systems was officially born, with humble beginnings in the garden shed, but within a couple of years had to be moved to larger premises in Inchbrook, as the business had spread overseas and production had taken off.
The introduction of generators, installations and maintenance contracts was especially successful and with the help of the booming 80s again bigger premises had to be found, so the company bought buildings in Minchinhampton.
Branching Out
Purchasing such a large amount of Sheetmetal work items, they decided to buy a local metalwork company they had regular dealings with and incorporated it into the business; making them self sufficient for their needs, and giving the opportunity to branch into the world of metalwork.
In 2000 after an offer from an overseas customer Atlas Copco, the Generator side of the business was sold, we therefore no longer needed such large premises so we moved to Nailsworth where we were already running the sheet metalwork side, this meant we no longer had to travel between premises and could concentrate on the business as a whole.
Sadly in 2004 John died and his wife Valerie became partners with Tom working side by side to maintain the business, with a fresh new start needed the decision was made to move to our present business premises in Bath Road Trading Estate Stroud, where we strive to give our customers, old and new, quality products, built to last and technical help if needed as well as service plans available upon request.
